Each airframe is rendered as an elevated rear-quarter view on the aircraft's left side to expose as much of its coloration as possible. Each render is of a 3D model that has been customized to match the real aircraft's physical appearance including door & window counts, engine-matching nacelle shapes, navigation lights and the placement of antennas. A separate companion art piece presents a legend with history-laden captions for each aircraft.
